Feusner serves as intern for newspapers
OLYMPIA — With support from the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association Foundation, Free Press Publishing will have access to news stories during the 2025 legislative session.
The organization has retrained interns Juan Jocom, Mary Feusner and Taylor Richmond to report on lawmakers and bills being introduced during the session.
Feusner is a Washington State University student.
“The first days working as a reporter for the legislative session have been incredibly exciting and nerve racking,” she said. “So far, I have only gotten a small glimpse of how the session is going to go, from getting to meet new people to listening in as bills get introduced and personal stories get told.
Jocom and Richmond are University of Washington students.
“I’m excited to strengthen my reporting skills as a reporter and build confidence occupying a space as part of the press,” Jocom said.
“So far, the legislative session has been a whirlwind of taking in information, writing on deadline and creating my place in the professional journalism world,” Richmond added.
