Spokane Valley Fire defends SREC move

SPOKANE VALLEY – The Spokane Regional Emergency Communications (SREC) Board of Directors voted Thursday, Jan. 16, to end discussions with the City of Spokane regarding its integration into the regionalized emergency communications system.

SREC serves 20 fire and law enforcement agencies, including the Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVD). Board members cited Spokane’s delays and lack of engagement as major obstacles to progress.
