Liberty Launch wrestlers win bronze medals

RITZVILLE - Two Liberty Lake wrestlers won bronze medals Jan. 18 at the Bronco Invite at Lind-Ritzville High School.

Wrestling for Liberty Launch Academy, Parker Bundy finished third at 113 pounds and Samson Kjar third at 150.

At 113, Bundy (20-7) opened with a technical fall victory (19-4 in 1:57) over John Hamilton of Oroville.

In the semifinals, he was pinned by Joseph Young of Kettle Falls in 2:41.

In wrestlebacks, he pinned Levi Oliver of Almira/Coulee-Hartline in 2:41.

And in the match for a bronze medal, he pinned Chance Degon of Liberty (Spangle) in 50 seconds.

Wrestling at 150, Kjar (17-6) opened the tournament by pinning Landon Tryon of Kettle Falls in 3:08. He then pinned Malachi St. George of Hanford in 3:15.

Kjar lost his semifinal bout to Carson Kubik of Lind-Ritzville/Sprague, won by technical fall (21-5 in 6:00).

In the wrestlebacks, he pinned Jett Marburger of Liberty (Spangle) in 5:42 before pinning Wesley Allen of Okanogan in 2:55 to take home bronze.
