CHENEY – In light of this month’s passing of local high schooler Peyton Patterson, there will be a celebration of life at the Cheney High School auditorium at 5 p.m. Saturday Jan. 25.
We welcome our family, friends, and community to come and share in the beauty of Peyton’s life and the impact she had on us,” the girl’s mother, Erin Patterson, wrote on the event’s Facebook page.
Patterson’s obituary, as published in an earlier edition of the Cheney Free Press newspaper, reminded our community of the dedication and strength the girl showed, in both her personal and academic endeavors.
“Despite health complications, she maintained an honor roll GPA,” her obituary reads. “She was always bringing joy to everyone around her,” Jordyn Belarde commented on her tribute wall. Many other comments made on this tribute wall also read similarly, a testament to Patterson’s influence on the community.
The impact of her death has been great on her many friends and family members, but also to those who did not even know her, as evidenced by the many contributions made to the GoFundMe page set up to help her family “give her the service she deserves,” as her mother commented.
