CHENEY – This Saturday, Jan. 25, the library will be hosting two events catering to nerds and geeks of all ages.
This will be a big weekend for Lego and Harry Potter fans alike, as the library will be hosting both a LEGO Free Play Day and a “Magic for Muggles: Crafts & Activities” event.
With a small but mighty collection of hobby-focused businesses, it is safe to say that there is no shortage of opportunities for those in Cheney who fancy activities which could fall under the categories of either nerdy, or geeky.
“Magic for Muggles: Crafts & Activities” will be from 1-2 p.m.
It features activities ranging from “charms, care of magical creatures, quidditch practice, and more.”
No dress code is specified, although the event host has not explicitly forbidden robes, pointy hats, wands or broomsticks, for those who do not consider themselves to be muggles.
The LEGO Free Play Day will follow immediately after from 2-4 p.m..
“Keep your engineering and problem-solving skills sharp using the library’s abundance of LEGO bricks,” the library website states on the event page.
Although Lego kits usually carry a self-imposed age range of “4-99,” the event host encourages all ages to come, as long as those who do not fall within this age range have adequate supervision.
