Eastern men earn road split

CHENEY — The Eastern Washington men made up for a home court stumble in the opening week of Big Sky Conference play by splitting a pair of road games last week.

The Eagles lost a 64-59 game at Portland State, Jan. 9 before salvaging a split with a 65-54 win at Sacramento State, Jan. 11.

In the Sac State game Eastern’s defense was stifling. “Only giving them 15 points in the first half, we really set the tone,” head coach Dan Monson said. “The first 30-minutes was our best basketball; our guys were locked in and confident.”
