CHENEY – All city offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Council meeting canceled

AIRWAY HEIGHTS – The planned legislative session of the Airway Heights City Council meeting which should be on Monday, Jan. 20, is canceled due to the holiday.

City Council meeting to be held

MEDICAL LAKE – The Medical Lake City Council will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Agenda packets for the meeting will be posted on the city website the Friday before.

City seeks Citizen Advisory Board members

MEDICAL LAKE – The City of Medical Lake is inviting residents to apply for open positions on various Citizen Advisory Boards, including the Planning Commission, Salary Commission, and Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Advisory boards provide citizen input on local government decisions, such as land use, compensation for elected officials, and park planning.

Applicants must be registered voters residing within city limits for at least one year (Parks and Recreation applicants may live within Medical Lake School District boundaries). Medical Lake to hold Winter Farmer’s Market

MEDICAL LAKE – The 2025 Winter Monthly Farmer’s Market is coming to Medical Lake this weekend. The market will be held on Saturday Jan. 18, Feb. 15, Mar. 15, April 19, and May 17, from 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on the second floor of City Hall at 124 South Lefevre St.

Free senior tech help

CHENEY – Free senior tech help will be available via Cheney Parks and Recreation on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 12 p.m.

Cheney School District Office offline

CHENEY – The Cheney Public Schools District Office is experiencing an internet outage that has rendered its phone lines inoperable. The issue, which does not affect other district schools, is being addressed by the district’s IT team.

Parents or community members with urgent concerns are advised to contact their child’s school directly until the problem is resolved. The district has not provided a timeline for when services will be restored.

“Our IT team is working diligently to resolve this issue,” Communications Coordinator Jenna Larson said in a statement.
