SPANGLE — Freeman opened with seven consecutive wins and scored a 52-21 NE2B wrestling win at Liberty, Dec. 17.
Michael Valente started with a 17-7 win over Liberty’s Coleman Green at 215 pounds.
The Scotties’ Quinten Malone pinned Chance Degon in 1 minute, 54 seconds at 113 pounds and Bearret Murphey followed suit with his pin of Riqee Cervantes in 1:39.
Quincy Paxton took 1:53 to score his win by another pin over Jeremiah Perry.
Four of the other Freeman victories in that opening run were by forfeits at the 285, 106, 120 and 132-pound weight class.
Liberty got on the board taking two of the next three bouts with Moxon Strobe’s pin of Samuel Kemble in 2 minutes at 144 pounds and 157-pound Maddex Strobel topping Lincoln Wright 12-7.
In between, Freeman’s Colin Bailey scored a pin over Raymond Lasz in 2:32 at 150.
The 175-pound bout ended in a double forfeit and Liberty’s Joey Matherly capped competition pinning Freeman’s Giovanni Sutherland in 1:39.
