Driver killed in rollover crash

67-year-old man dies in collision

FAIRFIELD – A 67-year-old Covington man died in a single-vehicle rollover crash Tuesday morning, Dec. 10, on State Route 27, about one mile north of Fairfield, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Charles E. Luttrull was driving southbound when his 2004 GMC pickup left the roadway, rolling multiple times before coming to rest upside down in a nearby field.

Luttrull was declared dead at the scene by first responders. A seatbelt was in use at the time of the crash, according to investigators.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Authorities have not determined if drugs or alcohol played a role. No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in the incident.
