Suspect threatens minor witness
CHENEY – Woman who was arrested last month as a suspect for giving false information was arrested again with new charges last Thursday.
Shawna Rae Langdon, 34, was booked into the Spokane County Jail for new charges of Malicious Prosecution (two counts), Intimidating a Witness, Tampering with a Witness, False Reporting, and Making False Statements to a Public Servant. There is no bond.
Langdon had been released from custody on Oct. 22 after posting a $5,000 bond for earlier charges. However, investigators allege that after her release, she attempted to coerce and threaten a juvenile witness into taking responsibility for the crimes she is accused of committing.
Her legal troubles began on Sept. 30, when Langdon was arrested for allegedly providing false information about a domestic violence incident. At the time, she was employed by Spokane Regional Emergency Communications but has since been terminated.
The incident that sparked the investigation occurred near South Holly Road and West Silver Street in Cheney, where deputies, assisted by Airway Heights police officers, responded to a domestic violence report. Langdon, who was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and transported to a hospital, initially claimed to be the victim.
Detectives later uncovered evidence suggesting Langdon fabricated the allegations, falsely accusing a male acquaintance as the perpetrator. This claim could have led to severe legal consequences for the accused individual.
On Oct. 18, Langdon was arrested after detectives concluded a detailed investigation revealing she had filed multiple false police reports. In these reports, she accused her former husband of assault, kidnapping, rape, and harassment—allegations that authorities determined were baseless.
The case remains under investigation as Langdon faces the new charges stemming from her alleged attempts to manipulate witnesses.
