Sheriff's Office arrest suspect in domestic violence, kidnapping

AIRWAY HEIGHTS – A man with a past criminal record allegedly forced a woman and two children into a vehicle and fled the scene as being pursued by law enforcement on Nov. 9.

A domestic violence incident in city, led to a pursuit and the arrest of Antonio Markese Davis, 32, a violent offender with an extensive criminal record according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

Davis faces multiple charges including, attempting to elude a police vehicle, two counts of reckless endangerment, obstructing a public officer, three counts of unlawful imprisonment and domestic violence and fourth-degree assault and domestic violence with prior convictions.

Spokane County Superior Court set the bond at $100,000 and Davis remains in custody.

Around 10:05 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies monitoring radio traffic learned of a domestic violence call in Airway Heights. Airway Heights Police reported that Davis had fled the scene before their arrival, forcing a woman and two young children into a gray Chevrolet.

Shortly after, a Spokane County Deputy spotted a vehicle matching the description near W. Whistalks Way and N. Government Way. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, but Davis, believed to be armed, fled.

The pursuit ended when Davis lost control of his vehicle near the 3500 block of W. Government Way, sliding off the road and striking a curb. Deputies apprehended Davis after he exited the car.

The victims—a woman and two children—were evaluated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Davis received medical treatment before being booked into Spokane County Jail.

The Airway Heights Police Department continues to investigate the initial domestic violence incident in collaboration with Spokane County Deputies.
