COLFAX - Take a look at the Nov. 5 election map and the only place you'll see blue in Eastern Washington is Whitman County.
Due to the influence of Washington State University students and faculty, Kamala Harris got a tepid nod to be president, edging former President Donald J. Trump by a mere 400 votes.
At the end of counting Tuesday night, Harris received 5,748 votes in Whitman County; Trump received 5,343.
But that's the only place east of the Cascades, Harris got the nod.
And in this election, as Eastern Washington goes, so goes the nation.
