Investigators seek leads in fatal bike crash

SPOKANE VALLEY – The County Sheriff’s Traffic Unit Investigators (TUI) are seeking information about a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred on Oct. 18. The incident, which took place around 7:10 pm on North Fairview Road at East Piper Road, resulted in the death of a female passenger and serious injuries to the male rider.

Witnesses reported seeing a full-sized truck traveling south on North Fairview Road between 6:45 and 7:15 pm, shortly before the crash. Investigators believe the driver or passengers may have valuable information related to the incident. The truck was described as possibly lifted and older.

Authorities are also reaching out to businesses or drivers with in-vehicle cameras that may have recorded traffic in the area during that time. The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office requests anyone with video or information to contact Corporal T. Miller at (509) 477-3195, referencing report #10149436.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner has confirmed the identity of the woman who died in the motorcycle crash as 32-year-old Briana Koon from Spokane. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force injuries, and the manner of death was ruled an accident. The Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the male biker, who was seriously injured in the crash, is still alive.
