Dispatcher arrested for false reports

Woman claimed she was assaulted

CHENEY – A woman has been arrested for allegedly providing false information regarding a domestic violence incident that occurred on Sept. 30.

Shawna R. Langdon, 34, was charged with malicious prosecution, false reporting, and making false statements to a public servant on Oct. 18.

Langdon was a Spokane Regional Emergency Communications employee during the time of the false report, and has since been fired since the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office filed charges against her, records show.

The incident began when SCSO deputies, assisted by Airway Heights Police Officers (AHPD), responded to a domestic violence report near South Holly Road and West Silver Street in Cheney. When they arrived, they contacted the woman victim, who was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the scene and was transported to the hospital.

During the investigation, detectives gathered evidence suggesting that Langdon, initially

identified as the victim, was not truthful. They established probable cause to believe that she maliciously accused a male acquaintance as the suspect, potentially leading to felony and misdemeanor charges against him.

Langdon has reported being the victim of other recent assaults, which are currently under investigation.

She was transported and booked at Spokane County Jail for the aforementioned charges.
