Discover fall programs at Spokane Valley Library

SPOKANE VALLEY – The Spokane Valley Library will host several programs for families and teens from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1. These events aim to foster learning and creativity through interactive activities.

Family play and learn story-time

Come to the library for Family Play & Learn Storytime on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

Children ages 2-5 and their families will enjoy 30 minutes of reading entertaining picture books, singing songs, and learning fingerplays, followed by 30 minutes of engaging activities that explore math, science, art, and literacy concepts.

• When: Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 9:30 am – 10:30 am

• Where: Diane E. Zahand Meeting Room East, Spokane Valley Library

• Audience: Early learners (2-5), families, teachers/parents

Space is limited, so please call ahead if your group has 10 or more people.

Baby play and learn story-time

The Spokane Valley Library invites families with babies aged 0-18 months to the Baby Play & Learn Storytime on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

This 20-minute storytime features picture books, rhymes, bounces, and songs, followed by 30 minutes of playtime with age-appropriate toys and activities.

• When: Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 9:30 am – 10:30 am

• Where: Diane E. Zahand Meeting Room East, Spokane Valley Library

• Audience: Early learners (0-5), families, teachers/parents

Teen Hang Out and Create

Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to drop by the Spokane Valley Library on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Students can study, socialize, or try out a new creative activity while enjoying provided snacks.

• When: Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm

• Where: Conference Room B, Spokane Valley Library

• Audience: Teens (13-18)

Toddler play and learn story-time

Join us for Toddler Play & Learn Storytime on Thursday, Oct. 31.

Toddlers aged 18-36 months will enjoy 20 minutes of reading picture books, singing songs, and learning fingerplays, followed by 30 minutes of activities that introduce math, science, and literacy concepts.

• When: Thursday, Oct. 31, from 9:30 am – 10:30 am

• Where: Diane E. Zahand Meeting Room East, Spokane Valley Library

• Audience: Early learners (0-5), families, teachers/parents

STEAM-themed Thursdays

Every Thursday, including Oct. 31, from from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, the Spokane Valley Library will host STEAM-Themed Thursdays.

Students in grades K-5 can drop by to try out exciting science, technology, engineering, art, and math activities.

• When: Thursday, Oct. 31, from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm

• Where: Diane E. Zahand Meeting Room East, Spokane Valley Library

• Audience: Kids (5-8), tweens (8-12)

Preschool play and learn story-time

Preschoolers ages 3-5 are invited to the Preschool Play & Learn Storytime on Friday, Nov. 1.

The program includes 30 minutes of reading entertaining picture books, singing songs, and learning fingerplays, followed by 30 minutes of activities that explore preschool-level concepts of math, science, art, and literacy.

• When: Friday, Nov. 1, from 9:30 am – 10:30 am

• Where: Diane E. Zahand Meeting Room East, Spokane Valley Library

• Audience: Early learners (0-5), families, teachers/parents
