Vella Fae Dow

Vella Fae Dow, 76, beloved mother of 2 daughters, surrogate mother to many, passed away at home in Cheney, Wash, on Sunday, Oct.13, 2024 surrounded by family and loved ones.

Vella enjoyed craft work of all kinds, decorating cakes and dancing (the wheelchair never slowed her down!). She liked to spend her time with friends, playing cards and bingo, or just chatting over a cup of coffee. Vella had a huge love of life and of people. She was a friend to all and would do anything to help those friends.

Vella was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Lorraine Olson and brother Lance Langie. She is survived by her daughters, Kasey Schmidt and Stacey Olson, grandchildren Cameron, Kiya, Kayla, Angel, Sammy, Jo-jo, Preston, Aurora, Oliver, Tom and Mia. Her sister and brother-in-law, Mona and Tim Fresnilla, brother Ernie Olson, nephews and spouses, Ronnie and Bonnie West, Russell and Cheryl West, Randy and Calista Long and niece Ashley Langie.

Vella's Celebration of Life will be held Friday, Oct 18th, from 1-3 pm at Sessions village, 2219 n 6th street, Cheney Wash.

Those who knew Vella knew her incredible strength in the face of adversity and her unending love and support of people she cared about. Please come and help us celebrate her life and share a story of how Vella touched your life.
