Robert (Bob) Lincoln

Sept. 29, 1933- Sept. 30, 2024

Robert (Bob) Lincoln passed away on Sept. 30, 2024, surrounded by love, the day after his 91st birthday. He told his children on his birthday he was "leaving tomorrow" and he did!

Bob was born on Sept. 29, 1933, to Peter (Henry) and Myrtle (Nixon) Lincoln in Leasburg, Missouri, and was the fifth of seven siblings. Bob was raised in Missouri and left school at 17 to join the United States Air Force. Bob proudly served his country until his retirement in 1974, spending time at Air Force bases in Idaho, Washington, Germany, Okinawa, and Greenland. After retirement from the military, Bob worked at Kaiser Aluminum as a Maintenance Foreman until his retirement in 1993.

While stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho, Bob met Neva Goller in Boise and were married on Sept. 8, 1957. They celebrated 64 years of marriage prior to Neva's death in 2022. Neva and Bob had three children – Cathy, Caren, and Dirk. As a family they traveled from Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho to Sembach Air Force Base in Germany, ending up at Fairchild Air Force Base in Wash. They ultimately settled in Cheney, Wash. in 1974.

After his retirement, Bob enjoyed activities such as woodworking, maintaining his lawn and garden, helping Neva with the children she cared for, and volunteering at the Cheney United Methodist Church. Bob loved to golf and played as often as he could. He raised cattle at his son's farm, loving every minute of it! Bob was an avid supporter of Eastern Washington University athletics and with his friend, Ray Liberg, created "Bob and Ray's" Beer Garden which they operated with the support of family and friends from 1991 – 2019 with donations supporting the cheerleading program.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Neva (Goller); his parents, Peter (Henry) and Myrtle (Nixon) Lincoln; brothers, Woodrow Lincoln, Burl Lincoln, Charles Lincoln and Richard Lincoln; and sisters, Deloris Matlock and Betty Hinten. He is survived by his daughter, Cathy (Jim) Almekinder; daughter Caren Lincoln; son, Dirk (Violet) Lincoln; grandchildren, Kyle Almekinder (Paige), Daniel Almekinder, Carter Lincoln, and Sydney Lincoln, sisters-in-law, Joyce Lincoln and Eleanor Clark. Bob was very proud of his children and grandchildren, and he will be missed. We are comforted knowing Bob has been reunited with Neva.

The family would like to thank the staff at Moran Vista Senior Living for their care during the past few months.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at the Cheney United Methodist Church, 204 4th Street, Cheney, Wash. at 1:30 pm.
