Big Sky ID Corp awarded contract

AIRWAY HEIGHTS – The City Council on Monday awarded the Southside Lift Station and Force Main Project contract to Big Sky ID Corp.

The winning bid of $1,099,394.75 came in 20% below engineering estimates.

The improvements to sewer and water infrastructure will be funded through the state Legislative Coronavirus Recovery Fund.

The new lift station is expected to support the city’s expanding development on the south side and accommodate future growth.

“We want to ensure our infrastructure can keep pace with city development, and this project is crucial,” city Assistant Public Works Director Steve Flute said.

In addition, the council approved a work order for construction of Southside Lift Station and Force Main Project. The contract will involve construction administration, observations, and project closeout.

The work will be also be paid for the state Legislative Coronavirus Recovery Fund. The city expects a seamless integration between the engineering services provided by CenturyWest Engineering and the construction by Big Sky ID Corp.

Flute emphasized the importance of efficient oversight, ensuring the project meets both budget and quality expectations.

“We have to make sure this project is delivered on time and within budget,” he said.
