Dump truck rollover causes injuries

Extent of injuries unknown, WSP confirms

SPOKANE VALLEY – A dump truck rollover led to an injury collision on Monday, Sept. 30, causing partial road blockage on the westbound Pines on-ramp from eastbound Montgomery in Spokane Valley.

Washington State Patrol (WSP) Trooper Nance responded to the scene at around 12:30 pm, with firefighters and the Department of Transportation (DOT) also on site. The incident partially blocked the road until around 2 pm, when the entire roadway was fully closed to traffic.

According to Sergeant Gregg Riddell, the Public Information Officer for the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the road blockage was resolved quickly. The driver and any potential passengers involved in the accident have not yet been identified, Riddell confirmed, and the extent of the injuries remains unknown.

The WSP has also not yet determined whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The commercial vehicle, identified as a dump truck, was inspected by Trooper A. Olivas of WSP’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Bureau. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
