Windsor, Westwood locks down

Individuals cause suspicion

CHENEY – Windsor Elementary and Westwood Middle schools locked down due to suspicious individuals being spot according to school district officials last Thursday.

Both schools locked all remaining students, staff and coaches inside the buildings. Some students already left in their buses from Windsor campus. Remaining buses were staged at Snowden Elementary School.

Airway Heights police, deputies from the Sheriff's Office and West Plains Crisis Response Team responded on site and searched the campuses and the surrounding area for the individuals.

After efforts from the law enforcement team, the suspicious individuals had been located, and the law enforcement confirmed there was no threat to the schools and community.

According to school officials, no arrests were made in relation to the lockdown at Windsor. The two individuals involved were juveniles carrying air-soft guns, and although they caused concern, they were not charged.

All after-school activities were canceled for the day.
