Cardinals fall at Liberty

SPANGLE – Medical Lake remained winless at 0-2 following their 31-6 loss to the 2B Liberty Lancers (1-1) in a non league game.

Behind the two touchdowns from Maddox Strobel, Liberty added to a 14-6 third quarter lead, scoring twice. Dakotah Phillips scored the Cardinals touchdown, a 27-yard strike from Aiden Suddeth, early in the third. No other details were available.

Medical Lake returns home to meet another Northeast 2B school, Davenport, at 7 p.m. on Sept. 20 at Holliday Field in Cancer Awareness night

Cardinals split in openers

SPANGLE – Medical Lake volleyball opened its season splitting a pair of non-league matches from the Northeast 2B League.

With Madi Spring leading with 12 assists and Mary Plute adding nine kills.the Cardinals swept St. George's 3-0 (25-11. 25-18, 25-18) on Sept. 10.

The Cardinals led 2-0 but dropped the next two sending the contest to a fifth set before falling 3-2 on Sept. 12 at Liberty of Spangle.

Spring topped the team with 23 assists while Plute and Trinity Auckerman each had 12 dig.
