SOCCER

Eastern plays twice at home

CHENEY — EWU soccer (4-3-1) will host the two of their final three matches of non-conference play this week. The Eagles will host UNLV (2-3-1) Thursday, September 19 at 4 pm, and then will host Boise State (6-1-0) Sunday, September 22 at 1 pm. Both matches will be streaming live on ESPN+

The Eagles are coming off of a 4-1 home win over San Jose State, and a 4-2 defeat on the road against San Diego State. Junior forward Chloe Pattison continued her hot streak recording two goals in both matches and has now scored in five straight. Pattison leads the Big Sky in goals scored (7), and total points (15).

Eagles play in Spokane at Gonzaga Invite

SPOKANE — Eastern Volleyball (3-5) is coming off a productive weekend at the Rocket Invitational inn Toledo, Ohio finishing with a pair of wins. Following a 3-1 loss to the hosts, Eastern claimed 3-1 victories over Marshall and Northern Kentucky.

The Eagles had several standout performances last week. Bri Gunderson led the team with a remarkable 55 kills and 27 blocks, including a career-high 11 blocks in the victory over Northern Kentucky. Kalista Lukovich was also instrumental, contributing 49 kills, 42 digs, and nine blocks. Meanwhile, Jannie Blake excelled with 91 total assists, highlighted by a career-high 30 assists in the win against Marshall.

This weekend, they will head to Gonzaga for the Gonzaga Invitational, where on Sept. 21 they face San Diego State (6-2) at 12 p.m. and Gonzaga (1-7) at 7:30 p.m.
