CHENEY – The Cheney Basketball Academy has announced a series of registration dates for its upcoming Hooptown season.
The academy encourages involvement of all levels of play from recreational to competitive and has three divisions.
The entry level boys and girls kindergarten through second grade Recreational division will practice one to two times a week beginning the week of Oct. 21 at a Cheney School District gym.
Games, which are played Saturdays only, begin Oct. 26 and conclude Dec. 7.
A Recreational Division for boys and girls from third through sixth grade is also offered with a similar practice schedule and play a seven game schedule between Oct. 26 and Dec. 8.
This division’s season concludes with a final four tournament.
A third through sixth grade competitive division requires tryouts and will practice twice each week starting Nov. 4 and plays a 10-game schedule from Nov. 16 through Feb. 16.
Tryouts take place Sept. 22 from 5-7 p.m. and/or Sept. 24 from 6-8 p.m. This division also finishes with the top four teams meeting in a season-ending tournament.
Registration and information for all divisions can be found by visiting their website for Hoop Town USA in the youth basketball leagues. There are seventh and eighth grade club teams as well. There will be a cost according to the academy.
