Windsor, Westwood schools on lockdown after suspicious activity

Parents blocked from picking up kids

CHENEY – Windsor and Westwood schools were placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after suspicious individuals were spotted near Windsor Elementary.

Law enforcement responded to the scene and is currently searching the area for the individuals. Both schools have locked down to ensure the safety of students and staff.

According to Cheney Public Schools officials, all students and coaches who remain in the schools are safe inside the buildings. Buses 63, 74, and 86 from Windsor Elementary had already left the campus before the lockdown and are continuing on their regular routes. Other buses are being staged at Snowdon Elementary for now.

Parents are not able to pick up their children while the schools are on lockdown. Officials will send out updates as soon as the situation is resolved.
