Rider killed in crash with Nissan

Incident occurred near Marshall

MARSHALL – A motorcyclist died after a crash with a car near the intersection of South Spotted Road and West Melville Road, northwest of Marshall, on September 2, 2024.

Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies and Spokane County Fire District 3 responded to the scene around 4:25 pm Firefighters provided medical aid to the adult male motorcyclist, who was transported to the hospital but later died from his injuries.

Investigators said the crash occurred when the driver of a Nissan Sentra, an adult woman with a juvenile passenger, was heading south on Spotted Road. As she attempted to make a left turn onto Melville Road, she crossed into the path of the northbound motorcycle.

The motorcyclist tried to brake to avoid the crash but was unable to stop in time, colliding with the passenger side of the Nissan. The driver and her passenger were not seriously injured, suffering only minor cuts and scrapes.

Investigators believe failure to yield the right of way was a factor in the collision. The name of the motorcyclist, along with the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office once the investigation is complete.
