Al French reappointed to State Transportation Board

SPOKANE COUNTY — Spokane County Commissioner Al French has been reappointed to the state’s Transportation Improvement Board, where he will continue his work to enhance transportation safety across Washington. French was also recently elected to lead the Steering Committee of Elected Officials, a group that will play a critical role in shaping Spokane County’s growth over the next two decades.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to influence the future of our county, especially in areas like affordable housing, transportation, and infrastructure,” French said in a newsletter on Friday.

French is also collaborating with state legislators to draft a bill aimed at securing funding for water filtration systems in rural wells throughout the Palisades and West Plains areas.

“As our communities grow, ensuring access to clean water is crucial,” he emphasized.

As the back-to-school season approaches, French is looking forward to the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new West Plains Camas Park, a regional park that will serve as a gathering place for families.

“This park is going to be a great addition to the West Plains, providing a space where families can come together,” French said. “I’m excited to see this project move forward.”

French expressed gratitude for the support he has received from the community and is eager to continue his work in the county. Recount Ordered for Lands Commissioner Race
