The annual Dirt Road Salvage battled Mother Nature

Winds over 45 mph, cold temps prevented people to come out

CHENEY – The 2024 Dirt Road Salvage event, held at the Cheney Rodeo's Bi-Mart Arena last weekend, featured a diverse lineup of activities, music, and over 40 vendors.

Event coordinator Heidi Monter reflected on the event, noting that it diverged significantly from her expectations. Strong winds, exceeding 40 miles per hour, caused several vendor booths to remain closed, although some were able to return on Saturday.

Despite the challenging conditions, with temperatures peaking at 73 degrees and gusts of wind throughout the day, the music continued. Dallas Kay took the stage on Friday evening and again on Saturday morning.

Tim Snodgrass and Dave Olson performed their set with resilience, playing through the wind and cold as if it were a perfect sunny day.
