Eagles split on the road
CHENEY - Eastern Washington soccer returned from their road trip to the deep South with a split of a pair of non-conference matches.
The Eagles earned their first victory of the season in a 3-2 win over Georgia's Kennesaw State on Aug. 18 following a 2-1 loss at Troy State in Alabama, Aug. 15.
With the win, it snaps a seven-game winless streak for the Eagles dating back to last season's 2-1 victory over Weber State on Sept. 24.
Trailing early at Kennesaw, the Eagles got even on ma penalty kick from Charity Freeman in the 11th minute.
Riley Arribas would give the Eagles the 2-1 lead in the 50th minute. Arribas would be involved in another goal, this time with an assist to Gillian Martin in the 57th minute.
At Troy, Delani Walker booted a cross to Isabelle Herting for her first goal as an Eagle, and the team's first goal of the 2024 season.
