Fortunati died of a self-inflicted wound
SUPERIOR, Mont.– The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office in Superior, Montana, reported Wednesday, Aug. 14 that 47-year-old Andrew T. Fortunati was found deceased. Authorities confirmed that Fortunati died from what appeared to be a self-inflicted wound.
His disappearance was originally reported on August 8, when a family member reported Fortunati missing. His family stated that he was making concerning statements the following day, and that he had not been seen or heard since then.
Andrew T. Fortunati was described as a white male, approximately 5’09’’, 190 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes. He was reported to be possibly driving a gray 2020 Jeep Gladiator with Washington license plates.
He frequented popular campsites and had family in Montana, but at the time, his whereabouts with the Jeep were unknown.
Despite a thorough check of his residence in Medical Lake, Washington, where his vehicle was not found, no further information on his whereabouts had been available until Wednesday. Fortunati’s family expressed deep concern for his well-being, leading to the widespread search.
