Dirt Road Salvage takes over rodeo grounds this weekend

More events for all ages

CHENEY – The Dirt Road Salvage 2024 event is set to return to the Cheney Rodeo’s Bi-Mart Arena on Friday and Saturday.

The event, a vintage, handmade and country living vendor fair, will run from Friday from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to event coordinator Heidi Monter.

This year’s fair features more than just vendors. “We’ve added live music, food, and a variety of activities,” said Monter. New attractions include painting classes, lavender care workshops, and a story time session for children.

For those who are over 21, there will be an adult cornhole tournament on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Teams must register in advance.

The entertainment lineup includes two musical acts performing in the rodeo arena. Dallas Kay will perform on Friday evening from 5-9 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tim Snodgrass and Dave Olson will take the stage on Saturday from 1-5 p.m.

The vendor fair will feature over 40 vendors, offering a wide range of products. “This year, we’re moving the bands inside the rodeo arena to create a unique live music experience for both attendees and vendors,” Monter added.

Children’s activities include a paint class on Saturday at 1 p.m., with story and snack time also planned, though the exact timing is yet to be determined.

Also, Reka’s Acres Lavender will host a Lavender Care Class.

For adults over 21 can participate in a paint-and-sip class on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m.

Admission details are available on the event’s website.
