Collins wraps first year as Eastern AD

CHENEY - As athletic directors go at Eastern Washington University, the past 12 months for Tim Collins was maybe not that different than many of his predecessors.

In mid-July Collins had a full year overseeing the department and recently offered a recap of the time since he and his family relocated here from where he was an associate AD at Fresno State.

Like Bill Chaves did in 2007 when football coach Paul Wulff was hired away by Washington State, Collins, too, had a coach lured away to Pullman when David Riley became Wazzu's new basketball leader.
