Innovia Foundation launches matching gift challenge

Proceeds will fund military youth camp

FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE – In response to a funding shortfall, the Innovia Foundation has launched a matching gift challenge to help send 175 military youth from Fairchild Air Force Base to YMCA’s Camp Reed in August.

The summer program, known as Camp WANGY (Washington National Guard Youth), has traditionally been funded by the Air National Guard. However, recent changes in federal spending policy have led to a shortage of funds, leaving many children of military families without the opportunity to attend this year.

For many of these youth, whose family members are scheduled for deployment in the fall, the week at Camp WANGY represents their only chance this summer to enjoy camp activities, foster personal growth, and create lasting memories.

To address this need, approximately $34,000 is required. Innovia Foundation is offering a fundraising challenge, matching every donation dollar-for-dollar up to $17,000. Community members can contribute by mailing checks to Innovia Foundation, 818 W. Riverside Ave., Ste. 650, Spokane, WA 99201, with “Camp Reed for Military Youth” in the memo line. Donations can also be made online at goinnovia.org/FairchildAtCampReed.

With the camp date approaching, contributions are encouraged by August 9. All proceeds will directly fund Camp Reed scholarships for military youth, and donations are tax-deductible.

“We are grateful for the community’s support of our military youth,” said Innovia Foundation representatives. “This is a chance to show our appreciation and provide a meaningful experience for these families.”
