Jaripeo Rodeo & Dance at Bi-Mart Arena
Cheney, WA – Colima Entertainment hosts the Jaripeo Rodeo and Dance at BiMart Arena this Sunday starting at 2 p.m.
According to event coordinator, Carlos Larios, "This event brings the vibrant and exciting Jaripeo Rodeo and Dance to Cheney."
He added, "This family-friendly event welcomes guests of all ages to experience a thrilling day filled with tradition, excitement, and fun."
Larios said when the gates open, attendees will immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere before the rodeo kicks off at 4 p.m.
He describes, "Prepare to be amazed as ten skilled riders take on ten formidable bulls, showcasing their bravery and skill in the ancient tradition of jaripeo."
Originating in the 16th century, jaripeo is a Mexican bull-riding tradition that derives its name from the Spanish word "jaripear," meaning to lasso or rodeo. This tradition was brought to the settlers by Mexican Vaqueros (cowboys) in the mid-1800s and has greatly influenced the cowboy culture seen in the United States today.
Larios added, that the excitement doesn't stop at the rodeo. Guests can enjoy live music from four different groups such as Los Cuates and Banda Rafaga, creating an energetic and festive ambiance throughout the day.
He described that there will be a variety of Mexican food, offering a taste of authentic flavors that will delight their palate.
Entertainment and activities will be available for the children.
