Foxhole Bar & Grill closes its doors after two years

MEDICAL LAKE – The Foxhole Bar & Grill, a community staple since opening in 2022, has closed its doors. Owner Matthew Sutton announced the closure on the bar's Facebook page on Tuesday, July 16, citing financial difficulties.

“Please know that you all have been so very good to us and we love you,” Sutton wrote. “We can't keep it going. I hope someone can come in soon and give this town a bar. We're so very sorry, we tried.”

The Foxhole Bar & Grill, located at 114 East Lake Street, played a significant role in the community. In August 2023, during the Gray Road Fire, the bar provided free food to those affected by the disaster.

Sutton and his wife, Sherry, expressed gratitude towards their patrons and urged them to visit one last time on July 16. “Please come in if you can tonight or tomorrow and love our staff because they deserve it. We love you ML and all of our people,” Sutton wrote.

The bar officially closed on Wednesday, July 18. Community members are hopeful that another establishment will soon take its place to continue serving the residents of Medical Lake.
