Fall camp opens for Eastern football

CHENEY — In the heat of summer, Eastern Washington football is focused on the 2024 season.

The Eagles begin their fall camp on Tuesday, July 30, with 22 practices planned including two scrimmages. Eastern’s rookie class reports on July 28 and the veterans report a day later.

Fall camp practices will be held on the EWU Sports and Recreation fields from July 30 through August 13. The team will then shift to Roos Field from August 14 through the 24.

Eastern will practice Tuesday through Sunday, with Monday being the team’s off-days.

Practices will run from 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 for the majority of camp, with the final two (Aug. 23-24) starting at 4 p.m. and going to 5:45.

Eastern’s two scrimmages on Roos Field are scheduled for Thursday, August 15 and Wednesday, August 21. The first scrimmage begins at 1 p.m. and the second at 3:30.

The time and location of all practices and scrimmages are tentative and subject to change.

The Eagles are returning 40 letter-winners from the 2023 team that went 4-7, with eight starters on both offense and defense.

Eastern opens the season Aug. 29 at Roos Field vs. Monmouth University from New Jersey.
