FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE –Motorists should be prepared for traffic delays in the area of Fairchild Air Force Base due to SkyFest this weekend.
The base will be hosting Skyfest, showcasing several different aircraft.
This will impact the area on State Route 2 in the vicinity of Fairchild Air Force Base. According to the Washington State Patrol, travelers should give plenty of time and expect longer than usual delays between the hours of 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. around the base.
The main gate will have access for VIPs, disabled persons parking and recreational vehicles. State patrol will be in the area assisting with traffic control along with partners from the Department of Transportation throughout the weekend.
State patrols will have representatives from the Aviation Division as well as a recruiting booth set up at SkyFest.
