LC powers over Cheney A’s

CHENEY — A nine-run third inning for Lewis and Clark proved to be the difference as the Cheney Summer Hawks A team lost 13-3, June 6. The loss was the first for Cheney after a 4-0 start.

Cheney was limited to just four hits and got its only runs in their final at bat in the fifth inning of a 10-run rule shortened game. Trey Sloan, Kody Beamer, Kyle Resienaur and Connor Whitman each collected a hit for Cheney. Beamer led Cheney Summer Hawks A 2024 with one RBI.

Cheney traveled to Medical Lake to face the Dirt Dawgs on June 12 and will host Ridgeline, June 14 at 5:30 p.m.

Baldwin heading to Calgary

CALGARY, Alb. — After spending a decade developing quarterbacks for the Canadian Football League, Beau Baldwin decided to join the league as the quarterbacks coach for the Calgary Stampeders.

Baldwin is one of seven Eastern Washington University Eagles playing or coaching in the league, to go along with a pair of former Washington State Cougars and one Idaho Vandal.

At Eastern, Baldwin helped develop future Canadian Football League quarterbacks Matt Nichols, Bo Levi Mitchell and Vernon Adams, Jr., as well as Mike Reilly at Central Washington. Mitchell and Adams are starters for Hamilton and British Colombia, respectively, as their regular season starts.
