CHENEY — The Cheney Summer Hawks AA team ended a brief 2-game losing streak to start their season by winning four of the past five games.
Their run started with a 24-9 thumping of Gonzaga Prep June 11, a split with Mt. Spokane, winning 8-2 and losing 14-4, June 12 and 13. A sweep of Pullman, June 15 came by scores of 9-7 and 11-2.
A 10-run first inning set the tone in the game played at Prep that only went five innings due to the 10-run rule.
T.J. Weindeman was 3-for-3 with five RBIs and a pair of runs scored. Wyatt Broemeling was 3-for-4, driving in three and scoring three.
