Heebink named Volunteer of Year

Founders Day officials honor local

MEDICAL LAKE — The Founders Day committee selected Reggie Heebink, former festival director, as Medical Lake Volunteer of the Year.

Heebrink volunteers to cleanup Medical Lake Cemetery prior to Memorial Day and Wreath Across America every year at Veterans Memorial State Cemetery.

Last Christmas, Heebrink volunteered to help 69 homeless kids from the ages of 13-17 with Christmas Gift bags.

During the Gray Road Fire crisis, she helped her neighbors with insurance claims.

This year and many years in the past, she has been the Founders Day Parade coordinator. She even has to coordinate the very parade in which she will be honored this Saturday.

“We have revised the line up so she can guide everyone through their entrance on the parade route and still make her star appearance,” Founders Day Festival Director Kylie Stein said. “We are so grateful to her and her service to our community.”
