Man arrested in Airway Heights abduction

Police have yet to release details in case

AIRWAY HEIGHTS – A man wanted for allegedly abducting a woman from a home here was apprehended and booked into the Spokane County Jail on Tuesday evening, April 30.

Joseph Parisian, 51, was being detained without bail in the jail on a U.S. Marshall's Office hold at press time.

Parisian was the subject of a two-day manhunt inconnection with the alleged kidnapping of Amanda Pakootas, 38, who was reported missing April 27.

Airway Heights police said she was located safely in the area of Regal and Fourth Street areas in east-central Spokane, around 7:30 p.m. on April 29. She is currently in protective custody and receiving the necessary support and assistance, police said.

Details of the case have yet to be released.

Details of Parisian's arrest were not available at press time.

However, records show he was the subject of the manhunt after fleeing from a SWAT standoff on Monday..

He was rrested about 7 p.m. Tuesday as the newspaper was going to press.
