Suspect arrested for robbing nonprofit

SPOKANE VALLEY – Spokane Valley deputies swiftly responded to a burglary in progress at the Spokane Valley Partners building, leading to the successful apprehension of a male suspect. The apprehended individual was identified as 42-year-old Justin W. Ingebritson, who exhibited signs of agitation upon discovery. This arrest comes in the wake of a previous burglary incident at the same nonprofit organization, suggesting a potential pattern of criminal behavior.

The incident unfolded on April 16 around 3:00 am, when authorities were alerted to an active burglary at the Spokane Valley Partners location on E. Broadway Avenue. Taking advantage of the damaged front door, which had been compromised in a prior burglary just a week earlier on April 9, 2024, the suspect gained illicit access to the premises.

Upon arrival, deputies identified a potential suspect within the building’s basement. Despite repeated commands for surrender, the suspect remained unresponsive. With the aid of a K9 unit, deputies conducted a thorough search of the building, ultimately locating and apprehending the suspect.

In response to his arrest, Ingebritson expressed confusion, questioning, “For what?”

Nevertheless, he complied with authorities’ directives and was taken into custody without further incident.

Further investigation revealed Ingebritson’s involvement in the earlier burglary incident on April 9, 2024. During that incident, significant damage to the front door, valued at approximately $1,000, was discovered, indicating forced entry.

Despite initial efforts to locate the suspect during the prior incident, Ingebritson remained elusive until subsequent investigation and assistance from nonprofit staff led to his identification. As a result, probable cause was established, resulting in charges of Burglary 2nd Degree and Malicious Mischief 2nd Degree, both felony offenses.

Following his arrest, Ingebritson was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges related to both burglary incidents. Spokane County Superior Court Commissioner E. Cruz subsequently set his total bond at $250.00, in addition to an existing Washington State Department of Corrections Hold.son expressed confusion, questioning, “For what?”
