Drug bust leads to arrest of two suspects

SPOKANE VALLEY – A routine surveillance operation by Spokane Valley Deputies on April 5, 2024, led to the apprehension of two convicted felons found passed out in a reported stolen vehicle. The incident, characterized by attempted escape and potential drug involvement, resulted in the arrest of the male suspect, Dylon H. Nedeff, and the release of the female occupant pending further investigation.

The discovery unfolded when a Deputy noticed a suspiciously parked 2017 Kia Soul in the 7800 block of E. Euclid Avenue. The vehicle, reported stolen earlier that month, raised alarms due to its connection with a residence known for drug-related altercations and prior criminal activity. As additional deputies arrived to assist, the unfolding investigation unveiled a series of concerning events linked to the stolen Kia.

Previous incidents involving the vehicle included reports of narcotics sales, encounters with law enforcement, and suspicious activities suggestive of criminal intent. Despite attempts to approach the vehicle discreetly, Deputies observed indicators of possible narcotics and criminal involvement.

Efforts to rouse the occupants from their apparent state of unconsciousness proved unsuccessful until the intervention of sirens and an airhorn. Amidst attempts to flee, the male suspect, identified as Nedeff, led deputies on a perilous pursuit, ultimately getting the stolen vehicle stuck on railroad tracks.

A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded incriminating evidence, including a loaded firearm, suspected narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and other items indicative of criminal activity. Nedeff, with a significant criminal record, was charged with multiple offenses, including possession of a stolen vehicle, attempt to elude law enforcement, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Despite lacking immediate probable cause for arrest, the female occupant faces potential charges related to firearm possession and drug possession pending further investigation.
