FEMA begins Gray Fire inspections

MEDICAL LAKE — Federal Emergency Management Agency now has inspectors in the area to assist victims of the Gray Fire who previously requested help in assessing damages from last August’s Gray Fire.

The inspectors are trained to recognize disaster damage, even after recovery and repairs have started, officials said. Wildfire victims should have receipts, photographs and other documentation available for inspectors who may visit damaged properties.

FEMA inspectors will carry a photo ID and already have the 9-digit registration number for wildfire victims who previously sought agency help.

Wildfire victims who did not already seek FEMA assistance can apply by calling 800-621-3362 or logging onto http://www.disasterassistance.gov.
