Cheney FBLA members win awards

CHENEY - The Cheney High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America won several awards from the 2024 Northeast Regional Winter Conference here.

Forty-seven club members placed in the Top 6 in their events and will be headed to the state Leadership Conference from April 24-27 in Spokane. Officials said 380 students representing 18 high schools participated in the competition.

Of the 110 times Cheney students placed, local FBLA member won 20 firsts and 17 seconds.

Junior Lucas Matos led the Cheney contingent, playing in six different events, including a first-place finish in three events - Help Desk, Organizational Leadership and Supply Chain Management. He also won 2nd in Business Communications and third in both Advertising and Sales Presentation.

Juniors Holland Hurd and Aiden Green, along with sophomore Myles Moomey, each placed in five events.

Seniors Teagan McGee, Pagie Lacey and Logan Mink each placed four times - including two first-place finishes.

And seniors Delanee Griffin, Joy Assonken, Sam Woller, Ryan Scheib and Lilly Pheth placed in the Top 6 four times.
