CHENEY — A pair of strong second-half performances led to a sweep of a Big Sky Conference road trip for the Eastern Washington men’s basketball team, keeping both their winning streak and league lead in place.

Outscoring Idaho State 17-0 in the opening minutes of the second half led Eastern to a 79-67 win at Idaho State on Jan. 20. Earlier, the Eagles overcame an eight-point halftime deficit, outscoring Weber State 41-31 on the way to an 80-78 victory at Dee Events Center in Ogden, Utah.

Eastern won for the seventh time in a row, 10th in their last 11 and are 5-0 in conference play and 11-7 overall.

Ethan Price led the Eagles in scoring with 16 points while Jake Kyman (13), Cedrick Coward (12), Casey Jones and Dane Erikstrup (11) also scored in double figures against the Bengals.

Coward posted a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double and Price 22 points on Thursday against Weber. Jones added 12 and LeJuan Watts 11.

A Coward field goal with 1 minute, 24 seconds remaining broke a 75-all tie and free throws — one by Price and a pair from Jones — provided the necessary margin to survive a last-second Wildcat 3-pointer.

David Riley is now tied for fourth in EWU history with 32 career Big Sky coaching wins.

Eastern returns home to face Northern Colorado on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. and then Saturday at 1 p.m. vs. Northern Arizona.
