DIVCO gets nod to continue HVAC contract

CHENEY – The City Council has renewed its contract with DIVCO of Spokane to maintain heating and cooling systems in city buildings.

The new contract shows a 2.21% increase from last year’s rates, but the city expected to see a higher jump than that. The total contract price is $25,233 annually, and the company will maintain six city owned buildings.

City Administrator Mark Schuller said the company has always done good work; he recommended the contract renewal.

Many of the costs will be billed quarterly.

The cost for City Hall will annually is $8,611, and $2,152.75 quarterly.

The utility building will cost the city $6,417 per year, and the Wren Pierson building will run $4,130 per year or $1032.50 quarterly.

The Police Department is also part of the contract and is estimated to cost $3,922 through 2024.

The Fire Department will also be covered at a cost of $1,526 annually.

DIVCO will also work on the recycling center, and HVAC maintenance for that building will cost $627 next year.
