MEDICAL LAKE – In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Redemption Church in Medical Lake hosted the 16th annual “Hollyfaire” craft fair on Saturday, November 11th, from 9 am to 4 pm.
The event, organized by coordinators Cala Nobel, Janell Wang, and Aimee Hawkins, attracted around 300-400 attendees who browsed the diverse offerings of approximately 50 vendors.
The primary goal of Hollyfaire is not only to showcase local artisans but also to raise funds for a special night dedicated to the ladies in the community.
“We take the money from it and we host a night for the ladies in the community, said Nobel. “We have a free dinner and a Christmas party with holiday music, we usually have 120-130 ladies come to it.”
The proceeds from the craft fair, totaling about $2300, will go towards creating a memorable Christmas celebration for these women.
The annual event is a longstanding tradition that benefits both local non-profit organizations, including Teen Challenge in Airway Heights, the Right Choices Pregnancy Center in Spokane, and various foreign missions projects.
Nobel expressed gratitude for the support received over the years, emphasizing that all funds raised “go back into our church.”
Apart from the diverse array of vendors, the craft fair featured a variety of activities, including a lunch offering taco salad and hot dogs.
Attendees could participate in a drawing for prizes, such as a brand new air fryer. Smaller prizes were also given away every hour.
Looking ahead, the coordinators are gearing up for the Christmas Party scheduled for Friday, December 8th, at 6:30 pm.
Ladies interested in attending are encouraged to call the church at 509-299-3139 to reserve a spot, as it is Redemption Church’s gift to the ladies in the community.
