After the conclusion of the first day of ballot counting in the November 7th election, a local resident, Amy Anselmo, has secured a significant lead in the contest for School District Director No. 2.
Amy Anselmo garnered 1,961 votes, representing a commanding 65.11% of the first night’s count. In contrast, her opponent, S. John Dubois, received 1,017 votes, making up 33.63% of the vote.
Neither Amy Anselmo nor S. John Dubois were available for comment on Tuesday night.
Out of the 15,157 ballots sent to registered voters, the Spokane County Auditor’s Office has gathered 3,366.
By Tuesday night, the voter turnout had reached 22.21%, and this is projected to climb as officials count late-arriving ballots over the next few days.
The election will be certified on November 28.
