Annual fundraiser will help youth

CHENEY - In the heart of West Plains, an agricultural resurgence is taking place, driven by a dedicated group of people committed to nurturing the next generation of farmers and innovators.

The West Plains Ag Boosters, a non-profit organization, have been sowing the seeds of generosity and support for over a decade. Their Annual Benefit Dinner and Auction is not just a fundraiser but a celebration of the crucial role agriculture plays in our society.

The West Plains Ag Boosters began their journey with a simple yet powerful mission: to support local youth in their agricultural endeavors.

They understand that agriculture is the backbone of our society, and in times of global uncertainty, its importance becomes even more apparent. This group of approximately 15 volunteers has transformed their mission into a reality.

The Ag Boosters truly believe in the future of the new generation of farmers.

They provide support for youths of all ages, from elementary school to high school, irrespective of their affiliation with groups like 4-H or Future Farmers of America.

Their support takes various forms, including senior scholarships, assistance in purchasing livestock, funding for conventions, supplying project materials, fundraising support, and even providing resources for activities like trapshooting.

They ensure that every young individual with a passion for agriculture has the opportunity to thrive. In 2023 alone, they have supported over 100 young people, marking a new milestone in their ever-growing impact.

The annual benefit dinner and auction is the centerpiece of the West Plains Ag Boosters’ fundraising efforts.

It includes both a silent and live auction, offering a diverse range of items generously donated by local businesses and community members.

The event is not just a fundraiser; it’s an opportunity for the community to come together and show their support for the agricultural leaders of tomorrow.

In the live auction, attendees have the chance to bid on a variety of items, from elegant flagpoles to meticulously crafted wood chests.

The generous donations from local businesses add to the event’s success. There are even exciting items for the younger generation, such as pedal tractors and trailers, fostering a love for agriculture from an early age.

The West Plains Ag Boosters express their heartfelt gratitude to their donors and attendees. Their commitment and generosity are the driving force behind the growth of youth in agriculture. The Ag Boosters see themselves as the backbone of the community’s agricultural dreams, and with each passing year, they are sowing the seeds for a brighter and more prosperous future.

The West Plains Ag Boosters are an excellent example of how a small group of dedicated individuals can make a significant impact on their community.

Through their annual Benefit Dinner and Auction, they are not only raising funds but also raising the next generation of farmers and agricultural innovators. Their commitment to supporting youth in agriculture, regardless of their backgrounds, is commendable.

As the West Plains Ag Boosters continue to grow and expand their reach, the future of agriculture in the region looks brighter than ever.
