SPOKANE VALLEY – The Mead Panthers took home the district playoff win against University High School on Oct. 28.
The Panthers won 2-0 behind goals from Sierra Mollotte and Teryn Gardner.
The game was very physical with both teams playing aggressively.
An injury stoppage in the first half came after University's Carsyn Gildehaus went down with an apparent head injury after colliding with her teammate while trying to head butt the ball.
Another stoppage was called before halftime, and this was due to guests in attendance.
The referee stopped the game as attendees kept calling out to the refs, claiming there were bad calls being made by officials.
Titan goalkeeper Aubree Carpenter and midfielder Addy Nordean came to the sidelines and had to ask some of the guests to stop.
"Please, we understand you may not like all of the calls being made," Carpenter told guests. "But you need to stop making so many negative comments."
